History of TOLSON

After launching an eSourcing solution in 1999 (SynerTrade) and being a partner in a consulting firm specializing in change management (Ytae / Alixio), Thierry de Cassan founded TOLSON in 2011 to help Procurement Function transform through their teams and tools.

2016

At the end of 2016, TOLSON launched its first Community with the Procurement Function. The initiative was triggered by a request from a Chief Procurement Officer who asked TOLSON to help him design a digital roadmap as technological developments began to accelerate. Based on the observation that practitioners from large international companies were all working on similar challenges and spending a significant amount of time trying to benchmark themselves, TOLSON organized a direct exchange between large purchasing organizations to help them progress faster together and address the initial request. The “Vision Digitale Achats” Community was born with around twenty face-to-face meetings in the first year.

2018

At the end of 2018, a second Community was launched: Industry 4.co dedicated to the digital transformation of manufacturing. As the digitalization of shopfloor and the intelligent use of data evolve very quickly, the need for exchanges became pressing. Pierre Skapski took over its leadership.

2020

In 2020, the COVID crisis required that all exchange sessions be held online. As the Communities expanded internationally, English became the language of exchange within the Communities. “Vision Digitale Achats” became VDA while the topics covered went beyond digitalization.

2021

In 2021, driven by the growing importance of ESG in companies and the rapidly evolving regulatory environment, Tina Mashreghi launched a third Community: the Sustainable Business Community.

2025

In 2025, to enable the development of the very uniquel Community model, ensure its sustainability and enrich the expertise offered to its members, TOLSON joined forces with KPMG and became an integral part of it.

Aryan Shafiei takes the lead of the Procurement Community.

2026

In 2026, TOLSON is launching two new Communities: TOLSON Supply Chain under the leadership of Clément Quaix and TOLSON HR under the leadership of Tina Mashreghi.

And the best is yet to come !

TOLSON at KPMG

TOLSON joined KPMG Advisory in July 2025

TOLSON’s operating model remains unchanged: rich and open exchanges between practitioners that TOLSON organizes and translates into operational deliverables. This service is highly complementary to the consulting missions offered by KPMG since it meets a need for exchange between peers, continuous improvement of teams in an unique way and information or knowledge that does not require the launch of a dedicated consulting mission.

TOLSON leverages the breadth of KPMG’s in-house consulting expertise—including procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, HR, innovation, and AI.

Occasionally, TOLSON hosts a KPMG expert to enrich sessions or contribute to the reflection. In addition, KPMG’s international network enables TOLSON to further expand its international reach and welcome an increasing number of global companies.
