Permanent Contract - Procurement Digital Transformation Consultant

CONTEXT
TOLSON, specialized in Purchasing since its inception, excels in the digitization, organization, and innovation of Suppliers, as well as in the overall transformation of the Purchasing Function within companies. In addition to traditional consulting missions in these areas, TOLSON innovates by leading a benchmarking community called “VDA,” bringing together around thirty Purchasing organizations from international Large Groups such as Michelin, Alstom, Société Générale, Axa, Pernod-Ricard, Airbus, Kingfisher, LVMH, etc. This community regularly exchanges information and expertise, providing TOLSON with a deep understanding of the challenges of large enterprises, best practices, and advanced solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the direct responsibility of the Purchasing Practice Manager and in connection with other activities at TOLSON, your role will be to ensure the animation and sustainability of the Purchasing VDA community and contribute to the success of our consulting services:
Community Animation

  • Prepare thematic workshops on the Purchasing function through research and expert interviews.
  • Animate and moderate exchanges at all levels.
  • Organize specific projects at the request of members (benchmark or studies, user clubs for solutions, etc.).
  • Maintain relationships with members and develop a relationship of trust.
  • To learn more about TOLSON communities, we invite you to listen to the interview that the founder, Thierry de Cassan, gave on the “Entrepreneurs café” podcast.

Consulting Missions

  • Design and animate framing workshops.
  • Manage and/or contribute to the production of deliverables and ensure their presentation to the client at all hierarchical levels.
  • Ensure the achievement of objectives set with the client.
  • Communicate and promote the project to all stakeholders.

Business Development

  • Contribute to the development of the firm’s offerings.
  • Participate in responses to tenders (technical and commercial).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Your experience

  • Experience in strategic Purchasing project management and/or consulting in organizational and/or digital change management.
  • Have worked in contact with Large Groups.
  • Successfully contributed to transformation projects.
  • Have facilitated workshops in the context of projects or intra/inter-company exchanges.
  • Ideally, be able to identify the challenges faced by buyers and have worked on a Purchasing IS solution (Ariba, Ivalua, Coupa, etc.).

Your skills

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and conversation skills in at least French and English, allowing you to effectively animate the community.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills in an international context.
  • Listening, analysis, and synthesis skills.
  • Be proactive and comfortable in an ever-evolving environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French (mandatory, proficiency in a third language is a plus).

  • Animate the Industry 4.co community, and thus work with major European industrials (Legrand, Danone, Sanofi, Safran, Imerys, Hutchinson, Tarkett, …) on the subjects that are shaping the industry of tomorrow
  • Participate in consulting projects, and thus deploy projects on the ground in factories, in France, Spain, Italy, …

Our Operations team works daily to develop a strong and integrated industry in its European environment. Our vision is that of factories that rely on digital technology to enhance their performance and reduce their environmental footprint. We like to work on “Lean powered by Digital” topics. Examples of topics on which we are solicited:

  • Build an Industry 4.0 roadmap
  • Raise awareness among SME management of the challenges of Industry 4.0
  • Deploy information flow digitization projects in the workshop, with low-code application design
  • Define the functional and technical specifications of an IoT architecture and support in the choice of solutions and implementation
  • Define mobile robotics specifications

Context of the “Industry 4.0 Consultant” position

Our Operations team is highly specialized in Industry 4.0 / Factory of the Future topics. Since 2019, it has been animating Industry-4.co, a collaborative community between major industrials aimed at accelerating the deployment of digital technology in their European factories. It also develops a consulting offer, supporting industrials from the strategy phase (4.0 roadmap) to implementation.

In this context, we are looking for Industry 4.0 Consultants to work on our various themes:

  • Digital Shopfloor: Connect field teams and facilitate their daily work
  • Connectivity & Data: Connect equipment and processes to develop performance
  • Smart flows: Deploy new automation technologies (cobots, mobile robotics, …) and flow design for more agility
  • Sustainable production: Rely on digital technology to reduce the environmental footprint of factories
  • Transformation: Help industrials define a vision and implement it

The position is intended to be generalist at first, allowing you to be exposed to these different subjects. It is then evolving towards a Senior Consultant position with a gradual specialization in one or more areas of expertise.

Your missions

Consulting

  • Carry out missions
    • Intervene at the client’s premises, within a framework and with supervision, to actively contribute to the project’s success
    • Take responsibility for intermediate deliverables
    • Conduct diagnoses, interviews and working groups

Industry 4.co community

  • Organize and lead thematic workshops and events throughout Europe
  • Develop a relationship of trust with the participating companies
  • Participate in collective projects developed between participants (market research, benchmark of practices, user clubs, …)
  • Contribute to the production of quality deliverables that community members can use

Development of the Operations activity

  • Contribute to the firm’s capitalization on Industry 4.0 topics

Within the firm

  • Participate in sales, marketing and event activities
  • Contribute to rituals (monthly or weekly meetings, training, …)
  • Maintain, develop and share your expertise
  • Take the lead on cross-functional projects

How we imagine you

You have initial experience in the industrial world, whether in a consulting firm, IT services company or an industrial company. Passionate about factories and how they work, you want to become a recognized expert in this world. You have an eye for detail and are committed to seeing your projects through to completion. Trilingual French – English (a 3rd language is a plus: Spanish, Italian, …), you will travel to factories in France and abroad In addition, you are curious to stay up-to-date.

Context of the “Sustainability Research Specialist” position

Reporting directly to the Manager of the Procurement & Sustainability practice, and in liaison with other TOLSON activities, your role will be to contribute to the success of the Sustainable Business Community (SBC), a unique peer-to-peer benchmarking community launched by TOLSON that has the objective of bringing together sustainability professionals from large enterprises to exchange directly with their peers on specific ESG challenges.

We address Environment, Social, Governance and Reporting topics in SBC, we are currently recruiting a specialist for the Environment and Social pillars.

As a Sustainability Research Specialist, your tasks are divided into :

Client relationship

  • Organize regular meetings in English and in French with our clients to understand their challenges and areas of expertise on the topics addressed in SBC
  • Respond to client requests for benchmarks
  • Build a relationship with client

Research and building deliverables

  • Do research on ESG topics
  • Research how other companies are doing and conduct benchmarks
  • Write articles
  • Produce high quality deliverables

Workshop organization and moderation

  • Source high quality speakers
  • Identity the right topics to address in the workshop
  • Design the workshop to be engaging
  • Moderate the workshop in French and English
  • Workshop topics can include: Biodiversity, Scope 3, Avoided emissions, Water stewardship, Circular Economy, Living Wage, DEI, etc…

Ecosystem outlook

  • Identify innovative providers and build a relationship with them
  • Organize events to bring together external ecosystem and our client network

Internal tasks

  • Participate in sales, marketing and events activities
  • Contribute to rituals (monthly or weekly meetings, training, etc.)
  • Maintain, develop and share your expertise

Future tasks can include participating to consulting missions.

How we see you

  • You have between 2 and 5 years’ experience in CSR, Sustainable Finance, Environment or Human Rights consulting, or in a major group working in these areas.
  • CSRD, ISSB, Scope 3, SBTI… these are acronyms that don’t scare you!
  • You’ve already worked with large groups
  • You’ve already led workshops as part of projects or inter/intra-company exchanges.
  • Bilingual French – English
